High Country Builders was founded in 1969 by Kenny Tankersley, a skilled craftsman known for his integrity, work ethic, and hands-on approach to building. From a young age, Shane Tankersley worked alongside his father, learning the ins and outs of the trade—including electrical, tile work, plumbing, framing, grading, and welding.

In the early 2000s, Shane took over the company and has continued to carry on the legacy, building both custom and spec homes throughout the North Georgia mountains. With a natural eye for design and a knack for envisioning the finished product from the ground up, Shane takes pride not only in the quality of his builds but also in the strong relationships he forms with each homeowner.

Together, Kenny and Shane have built over 400 homes in Fannin County—earning the trust of the community through craftsmanship, reliability, and personalized service.
